Santa Fe Dead

New York Times bestseller Stuart Woods returns with a fast-paced thriller, starring Ed Eagle, the take-no-prisoners attorney from Santa Fe Rules and Short Straw.

When last we encountered Ed Eagle, he had been the target of a murder-for-hire plot orchestrated by his wife, Barbara, the ultimate black widow. But when Barbara escapes from police custody, Ed knows that not only will his life be in danger but also the life of his new girlfriend, and, of course, of any rich man unlucky enough to be lured into Barbara’s web. To add to his troubles, Ed has taken on a new client, Don Wells, who may or may not have murdered his own wife and son.

From the posh resorts of southern California to the New Mexico desert and the seedy hotels of Tijuana, Ed Eagle will follow every lead—and hope that he doesn’t wind up Santa Fe Dead.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Great Read
This is yet another great read from Woods. Like the others, it holds ones interest and the suspence on the next page is looming.

4 Stars Light Read-Fun Story
If you are a fan of Stuart Woods, this book will entertain you. This is a light, amusing romp through Ed Eagle world. Just enjoy it for what it is and you won’t be disappointed. If this is the first time you are picking up this author, stop and try some of his earlier works first and then come back to this one. This is a quick read and I finished this in one day. His writing style is somewhat ‘jerky’ in conversations, but you find yourself overlooking that as you get engrossed in the story.

If you are looking for a deep mystery, you won’t find that here. This is just another chapter in Ed Eagle’s facinating, far fetched life. I enjoyed it.

5 Stars Receives stage actor Michael Kramer’s excellent skills
Stuart Woods’ SANTA FE DEAD receives stage actor Michael Kramer’s excellent skills as it provides a new thriller featuring Santa Fe trial lawyer Ed Eagle. Ed finds himself testifying as a witness for the prosecution in the trial of his ex-wife Barbara – only to find she’s still able to make his life hell. His involvement with hit men, detectives, and big money leads him on a journey to discover just what his wife is up to in this thriller.

3 Stars He has written better
It was quick. easy reading for when you are not in the mood to concentrate for the heavy stuff, but he has writtten much better. He has a strange thing when he names his character because the all sound alike. I wondered if he did it on purpose but because all of the last names started with the letter w or e. Twisty plot but he ties it all up in the end.

5 Stars Woods is Back on Track
Stuart Woods is back on track with his writing. For a while there he was writing short novels that really seemed kind of weird. Santa Fe Dead is a sequel to Santa Fe Rules. I suggest that you read Santa Fe Rules first so that you will be familiar with the characters. The character Ed Eagle who is an attorney is one of Woods best. He has had major problems with his ex wife, who is a gold-digger with a grudge. You will really enjoy reading this one. I had a hard time putting it down.
